Attention all Cosmonauts: it’s time to strap into your spacepants and enter the Cosmos.

Cosmos HackAtom V has landed and we have $50k in ATOMs to giveaway!  We want to see creativity and innovation when expanding the Cosmos Universe.

Visit five.hackatom.org for more information. Subscribe to HackAtom V Calendar to see the full schedule including when mentors are on the HackAtom V Discord channel.

Brand new to blockchain? Not a problem! Cosmos's resources make it easy to learn. Check out the links below to get started:

What is a Blockchain?   A blockchain can be described as a distributed digital ledger maintained by a set of validators that remains correct even if some of the validators (less than a third) are malicious.

What is Cosmos?  Cosmos is an ecosystem of blockchains that can scale and interoperate with each other.

How Do I Build a Blockchain?   Check out this webpage to learn all about the different tools available on Cosmos.

Ok, But What's the Easiest Way to Build a Blockchain?   That's easy, use Starport! Starport is an open-source rapid prototyping tool that lets developers quickly build a new blockchain with just two CLI commands.

Judging Criteria

  • Technicality
How are the chops on your team? Did your team demonstrate 10x capabilities? Did you execute clean code applying new or difficult techniques across a well thought out stack? This rating is for how much they got the nerd in you to geek out.
  • Novelty
Have you seen something like this before? Is it the same old hackathon project in a new package? Is it something you've never thought of or imagine before? This rating is for how new and surprising the idea is, even if it wasn't completed successfully.
  • Execution/UX
Who cares what it does, how does it feel? Is there wow? Does it click into place? Are you surprised by how easy something was? This score is for a tight execution and user experience. Rather than the substance it's the packaging around the project.
  • Presentation [Finalists only]
Quality often speaks for itself but sometimes help is needed. Is the project able to announce their work in a clear and engaging way? Is the code well packaged? Is the README legible? This score is for how well a project is presented in the final stage.
